Don’t judge me, but I LOVE cartoons and animated films.
I know some people stop watching them after a certain age, but I think they have some of the best lessons. Take the animated film Anastasia for instance, Anya was an orphan whose future was to either work at a fish market or embark on a journey to find out who she was. She chose the latter and learned that she was somebody; a Russian princess in fact.
I remember watching it for the first time during my freshman year at Penn State with one of my BFFs. I thought it was a nice movie, but I didn’t realize how beautiful the message was.
We, like Anya, should all aspire to find out who we are and embark on journeys regardless how scary it may seem. I have already started mine, but I gotta tell you, it’s pretty frightening.
Oh, and I also watched the Iron Giant that was a huge robot designed to be a weapon, but chose to be a superhero.
What path will you take? Who will you choose to be?
