A Day of Dress Shopping

Saturday was such a beautiful day. In addition to being absolutely gorgeous outside, I went shopping for my bridesmaids dress for my brother’s wedding next year in Jamaica. I can’t wait.

My soon to be sister-in-law (not the one getting married) and I arrived a bit late because the GPS was not doing its job. It had us in residential areas talking about we were at the location, which clearly was not correct. I don’t know what was going on.

Because of this, we arrived thirty minutes late and the other four girls were trying on possible dress selections. I wished we were there on time so that we could get the whole experience, but it worked out really well. All of the girls were super nice and we had a blast trying on dresses and discussing what to expect for the destination wedding.

The woman who assisted us was nice, but she was a bit extra. I get that she probably works off commission, but I feel like the best sales people are the ones that make you feel like they are not selling you anything if that makes sense. She was kind of hovering over us and since the experience was so new to all of us, I think it kind of overwhelmed the bride-to-be a little.

It wasn’t until we finished selecting our dresses and the dresses for the flower girls that I was able to take in the atmosphere. There were two bridal parties all giddy and laughing watching the bride in her possible wedding dress and I couldn’t help but smile. One day.

Can I tell you something? I was super excited about going dress shopping, but I was a bit nervous about the actual day and how the girls would interact if you know what I mean. I am so happy that everyone was cool, positive and helpful. I can’t wait for the rest of the bridal engagements.

How was your weekend?
