Letting Go

React to this term: Letting Go

I am a bit of a control freak, or at least that is what my sister tells me, so this idea of letting go is easier said than done.

The other night, when I read her the letter to my readers, she reminded me that I was still holding on. She was right.

For the past couple of days, I thought long and hard about what I wanted to write today. I knew for sure that I wanted to let go of the excuses that were keeping me stagnate. I knew that I wanted to let go of the fear of trying something new, exciting and dare I say, scary. I also knew that I needed to let go of any ill or negative feelings that I have been holding on to.

But Tuesday presented a new perspective for me and I realized that I needed to learn WHEN to let go.

I realized that it’s probably time to let go of something when it doesn’t benefit you.

Let go when the situations hasn’t changed in months.

Let go because you can’t keep doing the same thing expecting different results.

Let go when all the signs you have asked for have appeared and you know that you have ignored them.

I also realized that letting go is not quitting.

Letting go is acknowledging that you are not willing to be stressed out for a situation that does not make you happy.

Letting go is admitting that you deserve better. And letting go is doing something about it and working towards what feels right for you in this stage in your life.

So, I am letting it go.

Who is with me? What are you letting go?
