You don’t realize just how much you need to relax until you are given the opportunity. Of all the things I could have done at the The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, my favorite part of each day was trekking to the beach and just sitting by the water with a book. It was just what I needed to focus on what really matters in life. It was also the perfect opportunity to let my mind wander. But instead of telling you, how about I show you.
In case you are wondering, I did eventually get over myself and stepped out in my bikini. I also got in the water again until I got freaked out by all the baby jellyfish touching me. I am such a girl.
The vacation ended with dinner at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, cheap funnel cake and a bit of shopping at the nearby outlets.
Oh, and I figured out why my hotel was named The Golden Nugget, which seemed like an odd name for a hotel. I know I can’t be the only one who thinks that.
Get this, a family found that 60 pound nugget while prospecting behind their trailer home. Can you imagine?
