‘Tis the season and I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to the festivities. If you read my last post, you know that my Thanksgiving wasn’t a traditional one. We ate at an Italian restaurant. And while everything was delicious, I have to admit that not having a home-cooked meal wasn’t the same.
Needless to say, this Christmas, I’m going all out with ooey gooey baked macaroni and cheese. And if you know me, you can bet that I’ll be bringing in the cheer with a cocktail in hand. This time, it will not only taste good, but it will be good for my health and more importantly, good for my gut. Did you know that 70 percent of your immune system is in your gut? That’s wild, right?
About Wildwonder
That’s why I’m kicking off this holiday season with cocktails prepared with Wildwonder. It is a beverage brand that specializes in sparkling superherb infusions. Think combinations like turmeric pear, ginger lemon and matcha pineapple. And that’s just the antioxidant collection. The prebiotic and probiotic collection features peach ginger, mango turmeric and guava rose.
What’s more, the infusions don’t include any refined sugar, artificial colors or flavors. The contents of each bottle is less than 35 calories and made with organic and vegan ingredients.
So, this weekend I used two of the bubbly drinks and whipped up three of Wildwonder’s cocktails. A recipe book is included with an order of the Cocktail Mixer Set, which includes four drinks as well as a 3-piece cocktail kit.
The Cocktails
I made the Sour Spritz, Bee’s Knees and the Mulled Pear Cider. I’ll admit, I was hesitant to add my butter pecan maple syrup to the sour spritz, but I’m so happy I did. It elevated the flavor profile and and was a nice contrast to the fresh lemon juice. The Bee’s Knees had some kick to it from the ginger lemon Wildwonder and I loved it.
But.
Hands down, my favorite Wildwonder drink was the mulled pear cider. There’s something so comforting about a warm drink made with various spices and whiskey. I mean, the recipe had me at pear juice, cinnamon and ginger, but the cardamom pods were *chefs kiss*. I want to nuzzle up with this cocktail, a furry throw blanket and a marathon of Christmas movies. Every sip made me feel so cozy and got me a little more into the holiday spirit.
